Tucked away along the eastern edge of the Town of Amherst, MA, lies the community of Echo Hill North, a neighborhood comprising 122 single-family homes. Developed in 1959 by William E. Aubin, Echo Hill (“North” added later) was designed to be a neighborhood in harmony with a natural setting. The layout of the streets, the house styles on single lots, the retention of mature trees, and the inclusion of common land reflect the developer’s desire to preserve the natural character of the landscape. The first homeowners moved in in 1960.
